What To Know About This Production
It was Christmas Eve and all through the house there was laughter and joy. The children were dressed in their best party outfits. Their faces gleamed with excitement and their giggles were plenty.
Marie and her little sister danced around ready for their guests to arrive and eager to see what was wrapped for them under the tree! Their Nanny prepared them and the other children of the town for an evening of celebration. Marie and her sister were excited to celebrate their traditions of Christmas with food, presents, and of course their favorite story of the Nutcracker.
As the evening began and guests arrived, it was time for the Christmas Eve story. As Grandmother prepared to share the story, Marie realized that something was a bit different about Grandmother. To Marie’s surprise, Grandmother seemed a bit on the sad side. As the Nanny quieted the children, Marie could sense that the story Grandmother was about to read was going to be different this Christmas Eve and it sounded very important.
As Marie eagerly watched Grandmother, she opened her ears, her eyes, and heart with wonder.
Grandmother began to explain that the traditional Nutcracker story of mice, soldiers, and the Land of Sweets was splendid and entertaining, however she felt that her grandchildren and their close loved ones were ready to hear the true meaning of Christmas!
