The Backyard Bandshell began life as an innovative performance initiative during the COVID-19 pandemic. Streaming out of a literal carport in Boyle Heights in Downtown Los Angeles, The Backyard Bandshell helped create a safe and creative space for artists during a time when all conventional performance spaces had shuttered. From singer/songwriter nights to classical music and quirky off-beat cabarets, our team strived to keep live performance alive while live performance was still on life support. (You try saying that 5 times fast!)

All of which is to say... now that conventional performance spaces have finally reopened again, we are beyond thrilled to bring our unconventional brand of entertainment into them!
