The creative team seeks a diverse company of actors of all ages. Actors of all ethnicities will be equally considered for all roles and actors of color are encouraged to audition. All roles are open. A complete list of characters is provided later in this notice - it's there, I promise, just keep going through the process and you'll get there!! In addition to the principals, we are seeking:
CHILDREN'S CHORUS: The little people of Munchkinland. Long oppressed, and happy to be freed, the Munchkins will (mostly) be played by children. Group singing and coordinated movement required. Dance experience a plus. There are some featured roles among the munchkins, such as The Coroner, The Lollipop Guild, and The Lullaby League. Children may possibly be used as Flying Monkeys and/or Ozians.
THE OZ ENSEMBLE: 12-15 versatile dancers/singers/character actors who will step into iconic featured parts and fun, fantastical roles. There are roles within the ensemble for strong singers, strong dancers, and strong comic actors, but no one person needs to have all the skills!
THE DANCE ENSEMBLE: 6-8 trained dancers who will be used in several big, Broadway style musical numbers. There are solo and small group roles within the Dance Ensemble. We are seeking dancers with ballet/tap/jazz training. Singing is not required to audition solely for the Dance Ensemble.
FOR ALL, focus on acting/connecting/expression! Perform for us like you’re performing in your living room for your cat/dog/hamster/etc. Perfection not expected! We welcome singers/actors/dancers of all skill and experience levels! This is a show that truly has something for everyone!
