What To Know About This Production

The Three Musketeers

Hi everyone! I am excited for an amazing start to our season. The Three Musketeers is a wonderful play, and I look forward to working on this with you all. Below is the description of the play from the publishing website:

This adaptation is based on the timeless novel by Alexandre Dumas, a tale of heroism, treachery, close escapes, and above all, honor.

The story, set in 1625, begins with D’Artagnan, who sets off for Paris in search of adventure. Along with D’Artagnan goes Sabine, his sister, the quintessential tomboy. Sent with him to attend a convent school in Paris, she poses as a young man – D’Artagnan’s servant – and quickly becomes entangled in her brother’s adventures. Soon after reaching Paris, D’Artagnan encounters the greatest heroes of the day – Athos, Porthos, and Aramis, the famous musketeers – and he joins forces with his heroes to defend the honor of the Queen of France. In so doing, he finds himself in opposition to the most dangerous man in Europe, Cardinal Richelieu. Even more deadly is the infamous Countess de Winter, known as Milady, who will stop at nothing to exact revenge on D’Artagnan – and Sabine – for their meddlesome behavior. Little does Milady know that the young girl she scorns, Sabine, will ultimately save the day.

What To Expect At Auditions

Audition Info

Auditions will be held on September 9th from 6pm-8pm in the Pendery Auditorium

Please prepare a one-minute monologue of your choice. I am just getting to know you all, so pick something that resonates with you! Please try to keep monologue selections to plays, as those will translate best for this audition. Can be comedic or dramatic, contemporary or classical. I wanna see what you've got, and learn a bit about you as well!

If you already have a headshot, resume, or both, please bring a copy of those as well. PLEASE do not go get headshots for these auditions, and you also do not have to make a new theatrical resume. These elements are not required, but encouraged if you already have them.

You can sign up for your audition slot here on this website. Three students max can sign up for each 15-min time slot. Each student should only sign up for one time slot. If we run out of time slot availability, we can add more to the end of the night. Anyone and everyone is welcome to audition!

On audition day, come to the theatre 5-10 minutes early to check in for your audition. You are not required to stay for the whole night.

Thank you, and I look forward to seeing you all at auditions!

Callback Info

Callbacks will be held on September 10th from 6pm-8pm in the Pendery Auditorium

I am not sure if I will call everyone back yet or not. Know that if you are not called back, that does not mean you are not cast. I know every director says that, but it is true.

The Callback list will be sent out to student's email the night of auditions, as well as posted in the school in the morning the day of callbacks.

You will be asked to cold read from the script in different scenes. There is no real prep to do for callbacks, other than being ready to work and have fun! Doing research on the show ahead of time is always encouraged however, and may lead to you feeling like you had a more successful callback.

If you are called back, you will be required to plan to stay for the whole evening. I may release some folks early, but that will all depend on what I see in the room. I will want to see how you'll work with different combinations of actors. Callbacks can be tedious at times, but it's all part of the process!
