What To Know About This Production

That master of imaginative enchantment, C.S. Lewis, has created a unique world and he invites children to walk into it and enjoy both surprise and adventure. An old house in rural England becomes the home base for four children who wander into an incredible country through an old wardrobe and help the country return to summer. In the incredible Narnia, they make friends with the frightened forest people who have almost given up hope for the return of good King Aslan, their true ruler. When Aslan was there, it was always summer. There is a great battle to see whether this magical country will remain under a wintry spell or will, once again, know freedom and summer under good King Aslan. A charming play about courage and the love of freedom.

This is our One Act Play Competition piece, so show competition dates will be updated as soon as we get final competition dates/times from the other schools.

Available Roles

Aslan - he noble and wise king of Narnia, a great lion.
The White Witch - The evil queen of Narnia who has cast an eternal winter over the land.
Peter - The eldest of the Pevensie siblings.
Susan - The second-eldest Pevensie sibling.
Edmund - The third-eldest Pevensie sibling.
Lucy - The youngest of the Pevensie siblings and the first to enter Narnia.
Mr. Beaver - Resourceful, talking beavers who become ally to the Pevensies.
Mrs. Beaver - Resourceful, talking beavers who become ally to the Pevensies.
Tumnus - A friendly faun who is the first Narnian creature Lucy meets.
Fenris Ulf - The leader of the White Witch's secret police, a wolf.
Professor - Elderly man-kindly studious rather absent minded Owns the Home where the children go to get away form the city during WWII
Father Christmas - The Narnian figure who brings gifts to the children to help them defeat the Witch
Centaurs - Mythical creatures with human torsos and horse bodies.
Dwarf - Servant of the White Witch.
Mrs. Macready - Helps run the Professors Home.
Ensemble members - various roles, such as soldiers, other animals, or villagers.
Cast Extras - We will discuss further as we work through the process but you could be stone statues, animals in the forest, part of Aslan's Army (centaurs, unicorns, deer, fauns), part of the White Witches forces (dwarfs, wolves, giants, werewolves), and any other roles we may need to complete scenes.
Puppeteer - You will be inside and operating the Aslan Lion Puppet that will be life size in the final scenes
Alternate - Will serve as understudies for cast or crew members in the Competition Team and will join us onstage or backstage during home shows
Stage Managment - Helps director run practices and shows
Lights & Sound - Helps run light and sound for shows
Tech Crew - Helps with all of the behind the scenes needs for the show (Props, Sets, Costumes...)
Home Show Cast Member - Will join us onstage during home shows.
Home Show Crew Member - Will join us backstage during home shows.
