What To Expect At Auditions

Please sign up for a monologue time slot ahead of the auditions. For this appointment, we ask that you prepare a 30-60 second monologue. We would prefer to see these on Sunday, December 7, if possible! Cold reads will start at 7:00pm on Monday evening, December 8. If you need alternative timing, please reach out directly to our production manager, Jess Howard via vp.personnel@richlandplayers.org.

If you encounter any issues with the sign up process, please join us at 6:00pm on either Sunday, December 7 or Monday, December 8, ready to deliver your monologue.

  • Amanda (the mother) - a woman seeking meaning and control by clinging to nostalgia and living vicariously through her daughter
  • Tom (her son) - our narrator, a stifled poet forced to decide between duty to his family and following his dreams
  • Laura (her daughter) - a quiet daydreamer isolated from the world due to insecurities stemming from a childhood illness that left her disabled
  • Jim (the gentleman caller) - A nice, ordinary, young man
