A plague is decimating the population.


Government oppression reigns and crime is rampant.


The media is manipulating the country into conformity.


In the midst of devastation, a strange figure appears.

His message is spreading.

This exciting play explores how American society might react if a figure similar to Christ appeared today. Who would follow him? Who would fear him?

  • Chris - Leader if the Son Of Man Group
  • Thunder - Former drag queen and nurse who follows Chris.
  • Bullock - An officer who follows the events surrounding the Son of Man Group
  • Keefa - Follower of Joan the Extremist and, later Chris. Keefa is passionate, loyal and impulsive.
  • Jamie, Joan the Extremist, Wendy Welch, Maria, Ensemble -
  • Drew, Protestor 1 - Keefa's brother and follower of Joan. More optimistic than Keefa but just as loyal.
  • Diane LeFevre - Newscaster who covers the riots, a tragic death, the Son of Man Group and the Simpson Act
  • Doug, Barrabas, Person B, Gerald -
  • Jessica, Crowd Member 4, ACLU LAWYER, PERSON C -
  • Rev. Dr. Strickland - Head of the National Church. He is charismatic and strong in public and a strategist in private.
  • President - Leads the country through riots, a plague, the Simpson Act and mass executions.
  • Caroline - On site reporter who ends up directly entwined with the Son of Man Group
  • Mercy - Mother whose son, Alejandro is dying of a mysterious plague
  • Alejandro - Son to Mercy. Dying of a plague when he meets Chris.
  • Charles, Prosecutor - Serves under Reverend Dr. Strickland and see the Son of Man group as a public menace.
  • Det. Gonzales - Young Detective trying to convince Thunder to change his story.
  • Roze, Protestor 2 - The fanatic and member of the Son of Man group
  • Teresa, Person E, Protestor, Waitress - Student and member of the Son of Man group
  • Bishop Paul, Bobby Buchanon, Judge Stamos, Weatherman, Matthew - Doug's father and Pastor under Rev. Dr. Strickland.
  • Captain Solano, The Dude - Bullock's superior and friend to Rev. Dr. Strickland whose planning haunts him.
  • Simon - Member of the Son of Man Group
  • Officer 1, Drunk Person - A corrupt cop who is always running into Bullock and causing trouble.
  • Officer 2, Ronald, Biker, Zealot, Tadeo - A friend to Officer 1 who would probably be a better person were it not for the influence of Officer 1.
  • Mrs. Maija Simpson, Thunder's Mom, Person D - Mother to little Marley
  • Marley Simpson - Child who has a pink Cuddles doll with her when tragedy strikes.
  • Charles - A thief sentenced to be executed under a new law.
  • Prosecutor - Wants Barrabas executed
  • ACLU Attorney - Barrabas' Attorney; Wants the crime bill to be defeated.
  • Chris's Mother - His Mom who has a connection with Thunder.
  • Judy - A drug addict looking to make some money

  • Terri, Camera Person - Terri is a thief sentenced to be executed under the Marley Act. The Camera Person Documents footage for all of the events in the play.
