What To Know About This Production

Four couples arrive at the townhouse of a deputy New York City mayor and his wife
to attend a party celebrating their tenth wedding anniversary. However, the four
couples soon discover that there are no servants, the hostess is missing, and the
deputy mayor has shot himself in the head (it’s only a flesh wound). Comic
complications arise when, given everyone's upper-class status, they decide they need
to do everything possible to conceal the evening’s events from the local police and the
media.

What To Expect At Auditions

Hello! Welcome to OCP's production of Neil Simon's Rumors.
For this audition, we will be doing cold reads and filling out registration packets (partially online).

In order to be successful, please bring enthusiasm and a relaxed attitude.
For a show like this, chemistry is paramount. So we will be looking for a cast that can have fun together and bring to life the characters connections.
Showcase your theater fundamentals, i.e. cheating out, projecting, reacting, etc.
This will let us know who has the kind of experience required for certain roles.

  • Lenny Ganz - An accountant who has just wrecked his brand new BMW. Irascible, sarcastic, and very likeable.
  • Ernie Cusack - A smug psychiatrist.
  • Cookie Cusack - Ernie’s wife and a cooking show host with a bad back. She has a very dramatic, physical personality.
  • Glenn Cooper - An ambitious, polished man preparing for a run for the state senate. A Kennedy-type.
  • Cassie Cooper - A jealous type who believes in the healing power of crystals. Glenn’s trophy wife. Insecure, sexy, shrewish.
