What To Know About This Production

This memory play tells the story of Holocaust survivor Raja Englanderova and the children of the Terezin Concentration Camp in Czechoslovakia. This play honors those lives lost and pays tribute to the art and poetry the children created during their internment.

What To Expect At Auditions

The Lake Michigan College Visual & Performing Arts Department will hold open auditions for the Fall production of "I Never Saw Another Butterfly" directed by LMC Instructor of Theatre Ms. Shalico Sain.

Students and community members are invited to participate in the auditions set for 5:30-8:00 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 10, and 5:00-6:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11 in the Lake Michigan College Mendel Center Hanson Theater, 2755 E. Napier Avenue, Benton Harbor. Callbacks are tentatively scheduled for 6:30-9:00 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2024. 

Those planning to audition should prepare a dramatic monologue, poem, or prose piece of up to one minute. Pieces do not need to be memorized. Each auditioner will also be asked to participate in cold readings from the script. Sides for cold readings will be made available in advance.

Advance registration is encouraged via this site. However, drop-ins are permitted. In-person auditions are preferred; if unable to attend auditions, auditioners may submit a video audition through the sign-up link.
