What To Expect At Auditions
Auditions will be on October 14 from 6:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. at the Regional Performing Arts Company theatre at 2530 Portage Mall in Portage, Indiana. Actors will pick a 30-minute time slot to audition and should be there on time at the start of their time slot. This show is for any current 1st graders through 8th graders.
Performances
Annie Jr.'s performance dates are December 13-15, 2024. Our performances will take place at Woodland Park in the Oakwood Hall (2100 Willowcreek Rd. Portage, IN. 46368).
Membership
All performers must be members of the Regional Performing Arts Company to perform in this production. If you are not already a member, you may do so by completing the Member Family Agreement form and remitting your $25 fee at the Parent Meeting. If your actor participated in 101 Dalmatians Kids or The Addams Family young@part, the $25 fee is not needed.
Participation Fee
The participation fee for this show is $100 per actor. All production members and the board are unpaid, and these participation fees allow for costumes, props, and other show materials to be purchased.
Rehearsals
Rehearsals will be at Regional Performing Arts Company (2530 Portage Mall, Portage, IN.) A rehearsal calendar will be set after cast conflicts are reviewed. Some cast members (depending on their role) may not be needed for each rehearsal. A finalized calendar will be available at the first parent meeting based on conflicts. The parent meeting and read-through are set to be on October 18th, 5:30 P.M. to 7:30 P.M.
Conflicts
The directors will make every effort to work around the castβs conflicts; however, if you have too many conflicts, it is possible that you will not be cast in this production. All cast members must be available December 9-15 for tech week rehearsals and performances. Please make sure your conflict calendar is up to date!
Expected Behavior
It is the goal of the production team to offer the students an opportunity to learn theater skills, be a part of a quality production, learn respect for others, and have fun. Behavior at rehearsals and performances will be monitored and parents of students will be contacted if problems should arise. Specific behaviors and consequences are covered in our Member Family Agreement but it is ultimately left to the discretion of the production staff if specific behaviors are interrupting the rehearsal process and a student should be removed.
Casting
The cast list will be posted at https://us.cast98.com/studios/rpac once casting is complete. If your name is included on the cast list, but you do not wish to accept your role, please reach out to production@regionalperformingarts.org so that re-casting can take place as soon as possible. Please note: actors will not be cast based solely upon years of experience in theater, seniority, or the number of productions completed with Regional Performing Arts Company. Any issues with casting should be directed in writing to admin@regionalperformingarts.org.Β The cast list should be posted 1 to 2 days after the audition.
Actors will be expected to prepare 30 to 45 seconds of a song to showcase their voice. This song can be any song of their choice. After everyone has sung, actors will learn a small dance portion. Make sure you are dressed in clothes you can move in!
