Cleveland, TN 37311

DATES & TIME:

Auditions: February 9th & 10th, 7 PM

AUDITION PROCEDURE:

What to prepare:

  • A 10-12 line monologue/cutting from any Shakespeare play. Memorization is ideal, but a printed reference is welcome as long as you remember to give it your all in the action.
  • A completed audition form. Please note any anticipated conflicts for the duration of the rehearsal period (March - May). Actors must be available for all shows (May 30-31, June 1, 5, 7-8) and all tech rehearsals (anticipated May 23-29). If you have an immovable conflict during tech week, feel free to audition, but please inform the director upfront so they can determine if the production can work around that conflict.)

What to expect:

On audition day, everyone will participate in a warm-up activity. Then, you will be seen in the order that you arrived to perform your monologue. Afterward, you may be asked to remain for additional reading, or you may be dismissed.*

*Please note: If you are dismissed, that does not mean you will not be called back or cast. You may be asked to read for characters that are not your desired role, and you may read for roles that you might not be considered for. These activities are designed to help us get to know you and your range.

We recommend dressing comfortable enough to stand, walk, and move freely, but workout/exercise wear is not required.

Actors are welcome to provide a headshot and resume if they choose, but informal headshots will also be taken at auditions for reference purposes only. Photos taken at auditions will not be distributed.

Performers of all experience levels are encouraged to audition. Casting is available for ages 16 and up. All performers will be compensated via stipend (amount dependent on ticket sales).
