Auditions For Hello Dolly

What To Expect At Auditions

If you are auditioning for a role in Hello Dolly!, you will prepare a 16 - 32 bar piece of music to perform on September 23 during a 30 minute block AND you will attend a Hello Dolly! dance audition on September 26th.

We HIGHLY recommend a piece from a musical. We will provide an accompanist for you, or you may sing a capella. You will not be allowed to sing to a track. If you are bringing music for an accompanist to play, please make sure it is easy to read and clearly marked!

We HIGHLY recommend you choose a song you can act through to show your skills at storytelling. We do not recommend you sing a song from Hello Dolly!. We will have you do that at callbacks.

You will attend a Hello Dolly! dance audition in the SCAPA bldg. on Thursday, September 26th from 4p - 6p. Please dress ready to move in clothing and shoes. You will NOT be allowed to dance in sandals.

YOU MUST come to BOTH singing (Sep 23rd) and dance auditions (Sep 26th)! We will announce callbacks on Friday September 27. Actual callbacks will not happen until We hope to post the cast list _______________________.

If you are applying for TECH please complete the form completely and list what tech roles you are interested in on the last page of the form. In the "Additional Information" section please explain what your top three tech roles would be and WHY you think it would be a fit for your skill sets. For this show we are looking for the following technicians: Stage Manager, Asst. Stage Manager, Sound Board Op, Light Board Op., Mic Technician, Spot Light Op., Props Master, Costume Coordinator.

YES, you can apply for both tech and performance in the same application. If you do not select the TECH application along with your audition we will not consider you for tech.
