Auditions For Mamma Mia!

What To Expect At Auditions

Auditions will be three parts. First is the singing. We will send everyone the music selections along with an accompaniment recording. The recording will be the SAME recording used in auditions. Pick the parts you are auditioning for and work on those songs. If you want an Ensemble role, pick two of the selections and sing those. We are looking for singing ability as well as the character you can bring to the song. The Ensemble in this show has a huge role. Each ensemble member will have a character they are playing and will be on stage quite a bit.

Second is the acting portion. As part of your audition packet, you will be sent sides. If you are auditioning for a named role, please look over the sides for your preferred character and prepare them for the audition. THEY DO NOT HAVE TO BE MEMORIZED. You will be auditioning both alone and with a group. We will need to see the interaction and chemistry you have with fellow potential cast members. If you audition for one character, we reserve the right to cast you as a different character, so keep that in mind. We are looking for your acting ability and your ability to take direction.

Last is the dancing portion. This is a dance heavy show. Big group numbers. There is nothing to prepare for this portion of the audition. Our lovely and talented choreographer, Jessica, will have some basic steps just to see how you move on stage.

Auditions are intended to be fun, so have fun in your audition.

The Audition Form is computer generated. A couple of notes:

1. We only need your conflicts for May 4th through July 19th. You can ignore the other conflict dates.

2. If you have a resume that lists out all your prior experience, you can attach that. You do not need to retype that into the fields for prior experience.

3. A head shot is MANDATORY. This does not have to be a professional photograph. Just a picture of your face.

IMPORTANT COVID-19 INFORMATION: Auditions are now scheduled for April 25th. We plan on starting rehearsals May 4th. Please check back often because the audition venue may be changing.

We look forward to seeing you at Auditions!
