What To Know About This Production
Welcome to our Newsies Audition page. We are excited to be able to be producing this energetic musical for our Winter 2020 show.
Auditions are open to ages 9-19. Schaumburg on Stage is an educational program, a tuition payment of $395 ($375 for a second child) is required to participate in this production. This price includes a cast T-shirt and a streamed copy of the show. There will be an additional costume fee TBD.
Schaumburg on Stage is able to offer financial assistance and scholarships to qualified participants, please email info@schaumburgonstage.org for more information.
A Few Notes:
Although Newsies is considered a "dance heavy" show, we encourage all who are interested to audition even if they are not confident in dance. Our choreographers are eager to work with dancers of all skill levels.
Many roles in our production of Newsies will be open to any gender - This includes the Newsies ensemble and several of the lead Newsies.
The complete Cast List for those chosen for Newsies will be posted on www.schaumburgonstage.org by the evening of Thursday, October 24.
For ALL THOSE who are cast in the show, there is a one hour mandatory Cast and Parent meeting on Saturday, October 26 at 11:30 pm at Dorothy's Dancing Unlimited at 1104 Roselle Rd, Schaumburg followed by a full rehearsal for the cast members until 3 pm. Your tuition of $395 is due payable on that day.
Rehearsals will take place on Saturdays and Sundays between 11pm-6pm. You may not be called for every rehearsal and some rehearsals will be held at Dorothy's Dance and others at our Schaumburg On Stage studio. Rehearsal locations will be clearly marked on the rehearsal schedule.
