What To Know About This Production
The 2020 Main Street Summer Theater Festival will be a wonderful compilation of monologues, poems, scenes, skits, dance, and one act plays. Young actors from the entire Northwest Kansas region will work together with the festivals' directors and choreographers to create a celebration of theater and dance from their own homes. Together we will explore the creative possibilities of our new isolated reality. The young thespians will learn character development, body language, and how to create their own atmosphere by relying on resources found at home to create a background, costume and props for their performances. They will also enjoy more focused work with the directors as we focus on individual and small group projects.
The Main Street Summer Theater Festival will also include acting workshops broken up into age groups with the festival founder, Bonnie Cameron.
When the performances are ready, they will be recorded and released to the public on the Main Street Arts Council's homepage. Bringing the joy of theater to friends and family near and far, connecting each of us in a beautiful shared experience during this difficult time of isolation.
